Sharing a special layout-Memory Lane

This is a special layout that I actually created late last year.  This was as a tribute for my mother in law.  She passed away May 9, 2011.  Just one week after celebrating her 69 birthday.  She was a fantastic mother, grandmother and friend.  We miss her beautiful spirit everyday.

Heartfelt Creations products:  HCPC 3394 Classic Bella Rose Precut Set, HCPC 3433 Book Frame 1 Precut Set, HCPC 3303 Posy Patch Flowers Precut Set, HCPC 3366 Wrought Iron Cross Precut Set, HCD 712 Bella Rose Die, HCD 701 Posy Patch Die, Spellbinders Labels 10, and Spellbinders Labels 12.
Other products used:   Memento ink pad Rosebud, Memento ink pad Bamboo Leaves, Memento Ink Tuxedo Black, Versamark Watermark Ink Pad, clear embossing powder, Heat Tool, Big Shot, Pop Dots, ⅛” wide black organza ribbon, ivory self-adhesive pearls, black card stock, teal card stock, beige card stock, gold embossing powder, Terrifically Tacky tape, Zots, and sponges.
How to make this layout:  Stamp rose images from Classic Bella Rose precut set on the beige card stock with the Versamark.  Apply clear embossing powder to stamped image and heat set.  Using sponges apply Rosebud ink to the rose part of the image and Bamboo Leaves ink to the leaf and stem part of the image.  This process is called emboss resist.   Cut out the colored images using the Bella Rose die.  Cut leaves and vines in black card stock from the Bella Rose die.  Stamp cross image on black card stock using Versamark Ink pad.  Apply gold embossing powder to stamped image and heat set.  Trim around image.  Stamp song lyrics stamp from Book Frame precut set in Tuxedo Black ink on teal card stock.  Cut out song lyrics background using Labels 10 with the 2nd largest size.  Cut out the largest Labels  10 die in black cardstock.  Layer Teal stamped background card stock on top of black card stock.  Add cross image to layer die cuts using pop dots for dimension.  Poem on book is computer generated and printed on beige card stock.  Then stamp book image on printed poem.  Cut out.  Stamp 2 more book images on beige card stock.  Cut out images and layer images on top of each other layer with poem on top.  Attach black ribbon to book as a bookmark.   Sentiment in top right corner is also computer generated and printed on beige card stock.  Cut sentiment using 2nd smallest Labels 12 die and then cut mat out of black cardstock using 3rd smallest Labels 12 die.  Adhere together.  Add to the top right of the layout.  Picture is triple matted and ribbon and bow is added to matted photo.  Apply photo to the top left side of the layout.  On the right side of photo, add leaves and vine die cut along rose images.  Add matted cross to the bottom left of the layout, adding roses to the left of the cross.  Apply book to the bottom right side of the layout, adding leaves and vines and roses around the book image.

Good Morning Paper Temptress Fans!!
This is my newest creation featuring gorgeous card stock from Paper Temptress.   My project features Cryogen White and Lapis Lazuli Mica/Metallic card stock.  I know yes it features the Mica/Metallic line again.  But this paper is perfect for so many projects I love the sparkle this paper has and works so well with the Cryogen White card and the stamping and glittering.  If you still have not tried the Mica/Metallic card stock line, what are you waiting for.  There are so many beautiful colors to choose from.  Look below for the products used and how this card is made.

Paper Temptress Products Used:
Other Products Used:
  • Versamark ink pad
  • Stamp and Bond (Stampendous)
  • Heat Gun
  • Memento ink pad-Paris Dusk
  • Spellbinders Classic Ovals Small
  • Stamps  (Heartfelt Creations)
  • Die Cut Machine
How it is Made:
  • Cut two pieces of Cryogen White card stock at 6”x 9”.  Score one piece at 4½”.  This will be the back portion of the card base.  Score other piece of card stock at 2¼”, 4½”, and 6¾”.  This will be the front portion of the card base.
  • Cut Lapis Lazuli Mica/Metallic card stock at 5⅞”x 4⅜”.  Attach to card front.
  • Cut Cryogen White card stock at 3¼”x 4¼’.
  • Stamp flowers and swirls stamp using Versamark ink.  Add the Stamp and Bond and use heat gun to melt. While the Stamp and Bond is still hot apply glitter to stamped image.    Attach stamped image to the card front.
  • Now to work on the inside of the card.  Stamp the sentiment on the center of the back of the card using Paris Dusk ink.
  • On the piece of Cryogen White card stock with the three score marks, cut out an oval in the center of the card stock using second largest oval die and a die cut machine.  I also then embossed the oval.  Attach to inside of the card base.  Make sure to line up the edges of both layers of Cryogen White card stock.
  • Cut Lapis Lazuli Mica/Metallic card stock at 4⅜”x 5⅞”.  In the center of this card stock cut an oval shape, using the largest oval die and a die cut machine.  Again I embossed the oval as well.  Attach the Lapis Lazuli Mica/Metallic mat to the inside of the card, making sure to line up the ovals.
